This Takamine model should sound fine. A very playable guitar unless the action is too high but this can be easily adjusted by a qualified guitar tech at a music store or a local luthier if you know of one.

If there is nothing wrong with the action on the guitar, replace the strings with a light gauge acoustic set either bronze of phosphor bronze. Phosphor bronze strings are more expensive than bronze strings but tend to last a bit longer due to the phosphorus content. Many manufacturers offer coated acoustic guitar strings which are more expensive but last 3-5 times longer than uncoated strings.

Light gauge strings for acoustic guitar are usually 12-53 or 12-54. You can also get custom light gauges which are 11-52 or extra light which is 10-47. There is a wide choice of manufacturers including D'Addario, Dean Markley, DR Strings, Elixir, Ernie Ball, GHS, LaBella and SIT Strings.
