Cricut Machine: A Perfect Tool for Crafters

Do you yet own a Cricut machine? If you answered no, then you really should consider why not? For scrappers, crafters, anyone planning parties or gatherings or if you just want digital scrapbooking techniques, these little devices are the perfect die cut machine for creating amazing letters, shapes, and so many other embellishments. The Cricut machine comes in a few different models, and some of them are perfect for hobby crafters while others rival a commercial-grade die cut machine.

The smaller Cricut machine, the Personal Electronic Cutter machine, works well for hobbyists. It can create hundreds of letters and designs that come in sizes from one inch to over five inches! Obviously any hobbyist or crafter would love to have such a machine, and it would make a perfect gift for anyone. Larger Cricut machines, like the Expression or the Create machine, are great for those more serious about their die cut projects whether they be for scrapbook albums or party decorations. They are also great for teachers to use for classroom decorations, as well as being perfect for parents who homeschool their children! The 12x24 inch mat can be used to make shapes and letters up to 2 feet large! Imagine the beautiful letters, banners, decorations, centerpieces, and other items you could get with a Cricut machine like that.

Of course there is a wide variety of die cuts available with any Cricut machine with the additional cartridges you can purchase. You can even buy cartridges that have many licensed characters like Hello Kitty, Disney and Sesame Street. Your kids will really have fun creating their own Disney characters or shapes or cutting out their favorite Hello Kitty or Pixar characters as well! And for the grownups, they offer home decor shapes available for a Cricut machine, in addition to many shapes just right for scrapbook page layouts. These include beach scenes, sports, holidays, wedding, and even indie art that includes skills, guitars, and flames. Whatever your scrapbook or craft project, you're sure to find something perfect for you with cricut die!

And once you've created your pages with your Cricut machine you can also use binders and covers that are perfect for your scrapbooks. Your cricut machine bundle couldn't be more versatile.

If you can get a Cricut machine, consider it an investment for your hobby that will last a lifetime. The variety of die cuts and shapes available is nearly endless, and you are sure to enjoy it for many years to come!

Frequently Asked Questions...

Would it sound OK to put electric guitar strings on my Crafter Acoustic?

Crafter guitars aren't known for being the best brand but my guitar was purchased with lousy rusty and nearly broken strings (on the edge of breaking) so if I replaced the strings with X-small electric guitar strings will it sound better or worse? Thanks!

Answer:

You don't harm the guitar by doing this as long as the guitar is a steel string acoustic. However, electric strings are nickel wound and don't sound well on acoustic steel string guitars.

Acoustic (steel) strings are wound with bronze of phosphor bronze - this has far better acoustic properties. The nickel winding on electric strings are designed to work with magnetic pickups - something the bronze/phosphor bronze don't do well.

Always use strings designed for the instrument at hand. Nylon string acoustic, steel string acoustic and electric guitars all use different type of strings for a reason.

Any set of light strings will do for your guitar. If the gauge is different than what has been used previously, then you may have someone adjusting the neck truss rod for you - a quick and easy procedure as long as you know what you're doing :-)
